The problem with dating in Iran is very simple: you can’t.

Men and women meeting one-on-one can get you thrown in jail, so your choices are either an arranged marriage or a “trial marriage”.

Dating websites like Tinder are banned in Iran, but about 350 unofficial dating websites are believed to exist. You can get around this by installing a VPN on your phone – an app that bounces your phone location to another, more lenient, part of the world.

THE WORLD'S WORST LOVERS ARE IN GERMANY

A poll from global research site OnePoll.com, which asked 15,000 women to rate the world's best and worst lovers found that German men topped the worst list because they were deemed "too smelly.''

The Germans were followed closely by the English, who were considered "too lazy," while the Swedes, who came in third, were accused of being "too quick to finish."

DATING TIPS FOR SINGLES: HOW TO FIND LOVE IN YOUR CITY

Dating presents the same challenges and adventures wherever you are in the world. Find helpful tips for finding love from Ezgi Ceren Işık, Dating Expert from dating app Once UK.

#1  A TIP ON SELF CONFIDENCE

Sometimes, when single your self-confidence can take a knock, particularly if you’ve been single for a while. Taking your time to find a romantic partner is nothing to worry about – you know what you want and you’re serious about finding a meaningful relationship.

Surround yourself with people who make you feel good and take a detox from the people or things that are dragging you down. It’s important to spend time focusing on platonic relationships with those who make us happy. Happy people exude confidence!

#3 DATING SOMEONE NEW AFTER A BREAKUP

It is not healthy to push ourselves into "a rebound" and it is unfair to the other person. It is perfectly normal to spend some time alone after the end of a relationship, to focus on ourselves. I also recommend this to my friends, to "digest" everything about the ended relationship.

With the digital era, ending a relationship also became harder. It is not easy to avoid the information that we receive on social media. Sometimes we may even find ourselves stalking the other person's Instagram.

If you do not have the urge to have news on your ex anymore, it is a sign to move on. And when you decide to move on, take it slow. Otherwise, you may find yourself in unwanted situations. Especially after ending long relationships, you may feel like a small fish in the ocean and this may make you feel insecure. When you feel ready to date again, don't jump into the ocean, you may get disappointed.

#5 ENJOY IT

Most importantly enjoy yourself. You’ll look more approachable and friendly if you’re relaxed and smiling.

#2 PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING AND GROWTH

"Being ready" is a common pitfall singletons face so do not rush into a relationship to fill a void. Enjoy being single and work on your personal growth. The relationship you have with yourself is the most important relationship in your life.

Invest in yourself by learning a new skill or taking up a hobby. This is also a great way to meet new people that you might not have had the chance to meet. Expanding your circle of friends can help to fulfill your emotional needs.

#4 LEARNING TO TAKE THINGS SLOWLY

Slow dating is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s important to take your time finding someone who is right for you so that you enter a meaningful relationship that is much more likely to stand the test of time. A lot of people have met online and found they are happy ever after!
